Christmas Bursary Appeal

Chisomo, Solomon and Elija, (left to right) are bursary holders at an island secondary school. Elija is 16 and in his third year. His parents rely on uncertain income from fishing and without a bursary Elija would not be in school today.

The Headteacher's report that we receive each year gave him top assessments for Progress, Effort and Conduct.

In a recent video-call with Team Malawi, arranged by the local priest, this chess player whose favourite subject is biology, spoke about his end-game: to become a doctor.

A place at one of the top national boarding schools would cost about £100 per term while the fee at a local day secondary school is only £16 a term but even that is way beyond the means of most Malawian parents whose priority is providing food for the family. With your help, by donating to our Christmas Bursary Appeal we can give more young people a life-changing opportunity.
